Ted Huff has acquired a wealth of medical information and understanding over the years. Starting with earning an M.F.A. from the University of Michigan in 1987 from the Master of Fine Arts program in medical and biological illustration. This intensive graduate course in medical illustration not only encompassed a wide range of studies in illustration methods, techniques, and discipline within a wide range of media. It was also structured to gain the experience and medical knowledge needed to become a highly trained professional medical illustrator. Human dissection within the medical school gross anatomy course coupled with pathology taken within the dental school were a huge step in laying down the necessary foundations of understanding needed in anatomy and human physiology. Added with the many hours spent in operating rooms over the years observing mutiple surgical procedures. And acquiring the skill to gather the complexities of all this visual information then condense it down into an exceptionally clear and anatomically accurate series of illustrations.
Additional experiance has been gained over the years from my work at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Medical Research Campus at large. Working with many different departments and medical fields over the years. From Medical Research and development, Dental School, Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Pediatrics, Radiology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pathology, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Survival flight, Urology, Neurosurgery, and extensive work within Orthopedics.
Ted is still expanding his knowledge and love for working within the health care profession with his many years of continued free lance work.
